Jaggernauts Team 7442, is a South Florida High School Robotics Club where students, among other things, participate in the FIRST Robotics Competion (FRC). Our students learn engineering, computer programming, and hands-on machinery skills, as well as problem solving, strategic thinking, time management, public speaking, teamwork and leadership skills essential in any career. The goal is to inspire and support these youth members to continue on to higher education in trade schools and STEM programs in college.
FIRST DESTINATION: DEEP SPACE is played on a 27 ft. by 54 ft. field. Two alliances, each composed of three robots, compete in a race to stockpile resources before an oncoming “storm”. In the first 15 seconds of game play, teams cannot see their robots; the robots must drive autonomously or be operated via camera. Robots place cargo (orange balls) into their cargo holds and two three-tiered rockets on their side of the field. Cargo will fall out of the holds if left unsecured, Robots must install hatch panels to seal the cargo hold. In the last seconds of the match, robots can climb up a multi-tiered set of steps to gain additional points.
